mpm3Well, can you believe that it is time for another Menu Plan Monday post?  It seems like this past week just flew by!

I know that a good part of this is that I am not having to constantly try to think of what we are going to be having for dinner.  It is so nice to have it already figured out and planned.

Now that my son is a teenager, it seems he can really pack away the food.  I have learned to not take him grocery shopping with me, as he will start piling my shopping cart with foods that aren’t on my list.  He used to be more interested in trying to get out of helping me and going to look at the video games.  Now his main focus is what else he can put in the cart that he can eat.  I offered to let him choose a couple of yogurts that he would like for snacks this week.  He ended up putting in at least a dozen for just him.  At least it was a healthy choice.  I can’t always say that.

Anyway, here are our dinner plans for this week:

Monday–Lasagna, Cheesy Salad, French Bread

Tuesday–Hamburger Stroganoff, Green Beans, Peaches, Rolls

Wednesday–Teriyaki Chicken Stirfry, Rice, Rainbow Sherbet

Thursday–Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Peas & Carrots, Chocolate Macaroon Pudding

Friday–Meatloaf, Baked Potatoes, Green Beans, Jello

Saturday-Chili, Scones, Carrot & Celery Sticks

Sunday–Super Bowl Sunday–We always eat a plethora of snacks on this day,  So here is what is planned thus far:  Pizza Bites, Hot Wings, Quesidillas, Veggie Tray, Nachos

Well, that is it for this week!   I will try to post the recipe for the Chocolate Macaroon Pudding a little later this week.  It is new to us, but it looks absolutely delicious!   What awesome meals do you have planned?

mpm3I am again running a bit behind today on posting my menu for Menu Plan Monday.  However, I have spent much of the past several days fighting with my hosting company to fix a couple of things.  I was afraid I would need to change companies, so I have been hesitant to add anymore content until things were settled back down.  I am happy to report that everything is now fixed and we shouldn’t have anymore problems.

This week, my husband is out of town on business.  I am afraid that this is reflected in our menu plan this week.  I think you will see when he arrives back home, by the change in the menu plans.

So, here they are for this week:

Monday–TV Dinners, Brownie Sundaes

Tuesday–Chicken Nuggets, French Fries

Wednesday–Hamburger Helper, Cheesy Salad, Banana Pudding with Vanilla Wafers

Thursday–Cheeseburgers, French Fries

Friday–Lemon Chicken, Herbed Rice Pilaf, Salad, Chocolate No-Bake Cookies

Saturday–Tuna Patties, Macaroni & Cheese, Jello Salad

Sunday–Beef  Pot Roast with veggies, Chocolate Cake

Well, that’s it for this week!  I must say that it is so much nicer to not have to figure out what is for dinner every single day!  I am loving doing this planning ahead.

mpm3I am running behind today in posting my menu and linking to the Menu Plan Monday meme as well.  I think sometimes we get so busy with life and being a mom and wife that we don’t always get to do the things we want to…when we want to.  But, I figure that slow is perhaps better than not doing it at all.  At least I am trying, and that is progress in the right direction.

One of my very favorite quotes is by Neil A Maxwell.  Here is what he said:  “Eternal things are always done in the process of time.  Direction is initially more important than speed.”  I think that is so very true!  And I like to think that even something as simple as menu planning is indeed an eternal thing, as it benefits my family and nourishes them physically so they can better do for others.

So here are our menu plans for this week:

Monday–Ribeye Steak, Baked Potatoes, Green Beans  (It’s a celebration night in our home.  So a special meal is being prepared.)

Tuesday–Hamburgers, French Fries

Wednesday–Fish Sticks, Mac & Cheese

Thursday–Teriyaki Steak and Vegetables, Rice

Friday–Pizza, Cheesy Salad (This is green salad with cheese sprinkled on top.  My son likes to call it Cheesy Salad.)

Saturday–Chicken Foldovers, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Salad

Sunday–Oven BBQ Chicken, Twice Baked Potatoes, Green Beans, Brownie Sundaes

Yes, I realize that this Sunday is the same as last Sunday.  However, we had a change in dinner plans and were invited to eat with my BIL and family.  So we actually had Roast Chicken, Peas and Carrots, Potato Salad, and Apple Crisp instead of the BBQ Chicken I had planned.  I hate to waste a great menu item, so I re-scheduled it for this week instead.
